2022 VMA Nominees: Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X and More | New

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards are just a month away and Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X all lead this year’s show in the nominations, which were announced Tuesday, July 26.

The three rappers racked up a total of seven nominations, with Lil Nas X and Harlow being nominated with their duo “Industry Baby” in five different categories. Lamar was nominated in the Best Cinematography category for not just one but two of his music videos: “Family Ties” and “N95.” Behind them, Doja Cat and Harry Styles tied for the second most nominations with six each. Several VMA veterans — Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd — follow with highlights in five categories.

Lil Nas X and Harlow may have racked up the most names together, but they’re up for some serious competition for the coveted Video of the Year award. Also noted are Doja’s “Woman” and Styles’ “As It Was”, two of the year’s most iconic visuals. They will face Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy”, Sheeran’s “Shivers” and Swift’s “All Too Well” (10 minute version) (Taylor version).

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will return to New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark on Sunday, August 28. The ceremony previously hit the Garden State in 2019 when it was hosted by comedian and actor Sebastian Maniscalco; last year’s show aired from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Scroll down for the full list of VMA 2022 nominees, and be sure to go vote on vma.mtv.com for your favorites.
