The publication says she obtained a report from the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner as well as an autopsy report.

People reports that the cause of death was listed as accidental and resulted from “pneumothorax due to perforated parietal pleura during liposuction with autologous fat reinjection procedure” according to the autopsy.

Thomas reportedly traveled to Jupiter to undergo liposuction at Bafitis Plastic Surgery, as well as to have previous breast implants removed.

According to the report, she was released from the facility on March 21 and taken to a recovery center, but “suddenly” became unresponsive the next day. Thomas died in the emergency room after being taken to hospital, People reports.

Newsweek has contacted a representative from Williams and Bafitis Plastic Surgery for comment.

Thomas and Williams married in 1990 after meeting in 1985 at one of her concerts in Florida. They then welcomed daughter Katharine Diane in 1993 and son Samuel in 1997. Katharine Diane sadly passed away in 2020.

In April, Williams took to Twitter to share memories of his late wife. Alongside a younger photo of himself posing with Thomas and another photo of Thomas, apparently taken after a hunt, Williams wrote: “I met Mrs. Mary Jane Thomas on July 4, 1984 in Daytona Beach , Florida. Who knew the Beach Beauty would turn out to be a world-class hunter and adventurer?”

He continued, “We’ve traveled all over the world on hunts and safaris, but our favorite was hunting right here in Tennessee!”

Shortly after Thomas’ death, his son Samuel paid tribute to his mother. He said People in a statement: “My dear mum Mary Jane was a beautiful soul who forever marked all who knew her. She had a smile and a presence that lit up every room and she never met a stranger she did not s She wasn’t befriended. Her spirit was sweet and giving. She could earn ten points and cook dinner for her grandchildren at the same time! Now she can beam from above with my sister Katherine Diane just at her sides.

Thomas and Williams’ daughter, Katherine Diane Williams-Dunning, died in 2020 after being involved in a car crash in Tennessee. Tyler Dunning, her husband, was also in the vehicle and survived with serious injuries.
