Connecticut mother killed her 3 children in murder-suicide: cops

The Connecticut mother who was found dead at home this week with her three children had strangled the children before killing herself, police said Thursday.

Sonia Loja, 36, has been identified by Danbury Police as the woman found dead of suspected asphyxiation by hanging at a single family home in Whaley Street, where cops responded for a wellness check around 6.30pm on Wednesday.

Loja’s three children, identified as Junior Panjon, 12, Joselyn Panjon, 10, and Jonael Panjon, 5, were also found dead at the residence.

“Pending a formal autopsy, preliminary findings indicate that Ms. Loja strangled her three children before taking her own life,” Danbury police said in a statement to the Post. “However, this is still an active investigation.”

Loja and her three children were living at home with two other adults who weren’t there when cops arrived Wednesday. They have since been notified of the four deaths, police said.

Autopsies were to take place Thursday morning.
