“I’m a little rusty, so maybe I need a lesson,” the Netflix actor told the band members before the show, referring to his filmed covers of Metallica hits on the show.
The 58-year-old drummer, for his part, gushed: “Metallica is now a quintet, guys!”
The band then presented Quinn with a replica of Eddie’s guitar, which they all signed. “What the fuck is this,” Quinn exclaimed in the social media footage.
After their sweet encounter, Metallica shared a group photo with the game of thrones alum via Instagram, captioning it, “We call to order The Hellfire Club’s most metal reunion ever.”
Fans were quick to celebrate this wholesome musical moment via social media. “Joseph Quinn meeting Metallica is one of the best things [that] happened this year,” a social media user tweeted Friday.

The actor continued: “[Eddie is] an 80s metalhead, he’s a Dungeon Master, he’s the head of the Hellfire Club, which is the official Dungeons & Dragons club at Hawkins High. He’s really in and among all the crazy stuff I can’t talk about this season.
