Ancient GUNS N’ ROSES drummer Steven Adler and his solo band performed at the very first “DAVE JAM” benefit concert on Saturday, July 30 at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater in Peekskill, New York. The fan-filmed video of the show can be seen below.
100% of the net proceeds from ticket sales and donations benefited the David Z Foundation (DZF) for music education and programming for disadvantaged children around the world.
Last year, Adler say it YouTube M3 Rock Festival chain on how he ended up recruiting Ariel Kaminargentinian singer GN’R tribute band OLD SCRUPTto face his ADLER solo group: “Actually, I went to Argentina [in November 2016] — my wife is from there; his family lives there — and the GN’R the guys invited me to do some songs. And so I had a little party at a club called the Roxy in [Buenos Aires]and he was the singer [that played with us that night]. You can go to my website and see — the Roxy in Argentina. He was so awesome. I was, like, ‘You’re coming with me.’ And the guitarist of the band who opened for GN’R was so amazing. I told him, ‘Come down. I want to play with you.’ And he came down. I tell you, if [GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist] slash would have seen him play, he would have been at the back, in the locker room, training. That’s how good he was.”
Join Adler and Chimney in ADLERThe current touring line-up consists of guitarists Michael Thomas and Alistair James.
Chimney replaced Constantin Maroulis of “American Idol” and “Rock of Ages” fame, who was the singer of ADLER’S APPETITE for ten dates in May 2018, including an Australian tour.
Although he was not included in the formation that launched the “Not in this life” hiking in 2016, Adler joined GUNS N’ ROSES at several shows on the tour, including three stops in the United States and a concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, playing drums on “Out Ta Get Me” and “My Michelle”.
In February 2017, Adler revealed that he was originally supposed to appear in more than a handful of shows on the GUNS N’ ROSES reunion hike. He said he expected to play every “Appetite for Destruction” material for the entire tour, only to be told he was out after injuring his back during rehearsals.
Speculation was rampant that Adler would participate in at least part of the reunion tour since SHOTGUNS made it official in January 2016. The SHOTGUNS drummer for several years Frank Ferrerwhich is also part of the current range.
